Update to training

Our main training night is Tuesday, we meet at the LED tennis centre in Exmouth at 6:50pm. Please see the below post for further details. A casual Thursday run is sometimes put on by one of the members (please check the whatapp group for updates.)

Training going forward

With Mike's resignation as 'club coach', we as a committee have had to make some changes to how we organise our training sessions. As a committee we have decided to 'retire' the role of club coach on a trial basis until the AGM. With so many members with lots of different training goals/plans we feel the role of 'coach' is not relevant at present. Instead, our primary goal is to organise the logistics behind leaders for our Tuesday and Thursday sessions (with the potential to start up some sunday morning log runs again for those who are interested)

Moving forward, you may have already noticed that the training plan is now visible in the 'group info' section of our whatsapp group (once inthe chat tap 'Exmouth Harriers' along the top of your screen to view). If you are able to lead a training session please can you add your name next to the relevant date and possibly a word or 2 about the type of session you will be leading. You can add more details about your session in the group chat nearer the time of your session (as we have always done).

I will delete/add dates as we go so this can remain a 'live' document. In order for this to work I would like to encourage as many people as possible to sign up to lead a session. If we can fill at least 2 weeks in advance it will help this process to run smoothly and also allows Des to advertise our training in full in our fortnightly newsletter.

We plan on doing this on a trial basis until our AGM on 11th November where it can be reviewed.

Summary of training:

Tuesdays - efforts/intervals or loops. Hills or on the flat (alternating each week if possible)

Thursdays - steady run or loops (Halsdon, avenues etc). with the possibility of an off road run once a month.

As a committee we feel this is a simple hassle free way to organise our training that meets the current needs of our club and members. We encourage you to sign up to lead sessions even if you haven't done so before!
